For community projects, the Overdue Task Alerts dialog box lets Project Leaders specify:
The Project Members, other than the task owners, who receive alerts when a task within the task list is overdue. If you do not assign any users, alerts of overdue tasks are sent only to users whose tasks are overdue.
The frequency at which Project Members, including task owners, receive these alerts.
For personal projects, the Overdue Task Alerts dialog box lets you specify:
The Project Members, other than yourself, who receive alerts when a task within the task list is overdue. If you do not assign any other users, alerts of overdue tasks are sent only to you.
The frequency at which overdue task alerts are sent.
Because you configure overdue task alert settings on the task list level, these settings affect all tasks within the task list. Overdue task alerts are included in the daily task summary notification A system-generated e-mail that is sent every night to users. This e-mail can inform Project Members when the start date or end date occurs for one or more of the tasks that are assigned to them. This e-mail can also alert selected Project Members of any overdue tasks that are in a task list..
