About Collaboration Portlets

Collaboration portlets provide dashboards views of the projects The common workspace for members working together on a project. in one page. Changes that occur in Collaboration (as team members record their activities and progress) are immediately reflected in the information displayed to all users.

Collaboration portlets are available in two forms:

Community/My Announcements

Lists general information sent by project leaders A role in Collaboration. A user in the project leader role has read/write access to all Collaboration objects and can perform all actions related to the objects. This role can set access levels and permissions for user roles in the project. to project users. Users cannot respond to announcements—which are simply a way to inform all project users of important news.

Community/My Calendar

Lists all calendar items Can be a task (a single unit of work done by one person), an event (occurrence outside of a project that is of interest to project users), or a milestone (single occurrence that is important in a project). related to Collaboration projects, including events An occurrence that is important to project users and that may impact completion of project work., milestones A single date that represents an important occurrence in a project., and tasks A single unit of work done by one person..

Community/My Tasks

Lists the work to be completed (tasks) for Collaboration projects. Task lists can apply to project phases and can also be used as to-do lists. The start and end dates in a task list are determined by the dates of the tasks in the list.

Community/My Discussions

Lists online forums that hold messages Any posting. A message can be the original posting in a topic, or it can be a reply to the original posting or to another reply. posted by project users. Discussions contain an initial message with information (or questions) and replies to that message or to other replies.

Community/My Documents

Lists files uploaded for Collaboration projects. Project files can be checked in and out for revision. Collaboration keeps a version history for all files as well as copies of every version. The latest checked-in version is usually the working version of the file; however, users can revert to an earlier version. The current working version of a file containing text is indexed for searching.

Community/My Project Search

Lets you search text contained in Collaboration objects. You can search project files and text descriptions of various objects, such as announcements, messages, and tasks.

Community/My Projects

Lets you view projects that you have added to your my page or projects that the Community Manager has added to the community page. You can access Project Explorer Collaboration application view that lists projects available to you. You can select a project you want to see on the your My Page by selecting the project name. Also used by the community manager to create new projects or archive obsolete projects. and your Personal Project A private project for your own use. It includes Notes, Documents, Task Lists, and Calendar functionality that are similar to a shared Collaboration project, which you could use to store your own files, appointments, and to-do lists. through this portlet.

Other Collaboration portlets, such as My Documents or My Calendar, display information based on what you selected in the My Projects portlet.
