You can send a manual notification e-mail by using the Collaboration Notification E-mail Editor or by cutting and pasting the notification link into your e-mail editor (such as Microsoft Outlook).
To send a manual notification by using the Collaboration Notification E-mail Editor:
In the application view, click the Tasks, Documents, or Discussions tab and select the task, document, or discussion about which you want to send a notification.
Click Notify.
In the Send Notification dialog box, click To... and from the Choose Users dialog box, select the recipients of the notification e-mail.
Click Finish.
In the Subject field type some text to identify the subject of the e-mail.
In the Message Details text box, type the body of your message.
Click Finish.
To send a notification link using your e-mail editor (such as Microsoft Outlook):
In the Send Notification dialog box, click the Notification Link tab. For more information, see Notification Link.
Click Create. This launches your default e-mail client and includes the notification link in the body of the e-mail. You can then edit this e-mail before sending it out through your e-mail client.
In the Send Notification dialog box, click Finish.
To send a notification link using your e-mail editor by copying and pasting the notification link:
In the Send Notification dialog box, click the Notification Link tab. For more information, see Notification Link.
Copy the contents of the Notification Link text box.
Create a new e-mail in your desktop e-mail editor.
Paste the contents of the Notification Link text box in your e-mail.
After you have sent your e-mail, in the Send Notification dialog box click Finish.
