Discussion Properties

You can set or change the name and the description of a discussion, assign moderators, and close a discussion once it has been resolved.

Click Finish after you are done configuring the following:

Moderators

Moderators can approve, reject, or edit messages. If you want to assign, change, or remove moderators for the discussion, click .  From the Choose Users dialog box, select or delete the moderators and click Finish.

Messages posted in moderated discussions do not appear to users in Discussions unless approved by the moderator. Moderators, however, can see these unapproved messages marked in red. For step-by step instructions on how to assign moderators to discussions, see Assigning Moderators to Discussions.

Name

Type no more than 100 characters to name the discussion.

Description

Optional. Type no more than 1,000 characters to describe the discussion. The description appears in the heading of the details pane Lower right section of the application view. You can view details and descriptions (if provided) of items selected in the table pane. You can also perform various actions, such as notifying others about the document you uploaded or subscribing to a discussion. when the discussion is selected in the table pane Upper right section of the application view. You can view the items you selected in the navigation pane in a table format. You can also view detailed information about the items in the table pane by selecting the check box next to the item. Detailed information appears on the details pane below..  

Discussion Status

To end the discussion, select closed from the drop-down list. This setting is not available when you are creating a new discussion.

Discussion Resolution

Optional. Once you end a discussion, you can write a summary of the resolution. This setting is not available when you are creating a new discussion.

 To configure who can access this discussion, click the Security tab.
