A discussion provides a virtual forum where project users can hold online conversations on subjects of interest. Since discussions are related to individual projects, members of a project team can view and participate in discussions directly related to their work.

Messages
A discussion can be started by an initial message and followed by replies to that message (including replies to replies).
You can receive automatic e-mail notification when a new subject of conversation is started in a discussion or when a new message is added to an existing subject. When you reply to an email notification, your response to the message is posted on the discussion.
Attaching Task Lists and Documents
You can attach task lists A list of individual tasks required to complete a project , one phase of a project, or a to-do list. Task lists have date properties that are calculated based on the dates of the tasks it contains. and documents Project documents or files are uploaded to Collaboration and held in a repository. Collaboration provides the facilities to check out files, check in revised files, and submit project files to the portal. Collaboration tracks all activities about a file in its file revision history. or files to discussions. Project users can participate in the discussion while viewing the details of the task list. They can also view documents and files that are relevant to the task.
You can also attach documents to discussion messages.
You can send an e-mail to the discussion
using your personal computer's e-mail client, such as Microsoft Outlook
or Lotus Notes. The e-mail is posted as a message in a new subject thread.
Files that you attach to the e-mail are uploaded to the project and attached
to the message.
You do this by e-mailing
the address displayed in the discussion's details pane action bar. This is the unique e-mail address of
this discussion.
