The Project Explorer and the Tasks, Documents, Discussions and Project Recycle Bin (in the Collaboration application view) are divided into three panes: the navigation pane on the left, the table pane on the right, and the details pane on the lower right. The table pane contains objects that belong to the node that you selected in the navigation pane.
The navigation pane in the Tasks, Documents and Discussions Explorers
contain a navigation tree with a list of folders, task lists, or discussions.
The navigation pane in the Recycle Bin Explorer contains a navigation
tree with a list of tasks, documents and discussions. To view the contents
of the navigation tree on the table pane, click on the root node in the
navigation tree. The root node is a folder () in Project
Explorer and in the Documents Explorer, a task list (
)
in the Tasks Explorer, a discussion (
) in the Discussions
Explorer and a recycle bin (
) in the Recycle Bin Explorer.
The table pane displays all objects contained in a node in the navigation tree. You can view detailed information about the items in the table pane by selecting the check box next to the item. Detailed information appears on the details pane below.
The details pane provides details and descriptions (if provided) of items selected in the table pane. In the application view explorers, you can also perform various actions, such as notifying others about the document you uploaded or subscribing to a discussion.
